It may not appear to be true but these are fledgling grapes and just like our excitement earlier in the year with strawberries, asparagus… (insert other homegrown produce here), we are equally excited! There are actually quite a few of these things showing through now so I am hoping for a bumper crop and an equally bumper supply of red wine for next year, although it is a little hard to believe that these little stumps (5mm tall) grow into rich and luscious red grapes ![]()
Its another glorious summers day in our corner of Hungary and now I am regretting not getting around to cutting the lawn when the weather was a little cooler, I am about half way through and am absolutely exhausted but I must plod on… It would also appear that tomorrow marks the third of the year mark this year and time has flown by but it is great to have pretty much everything we have planted to date making a show in the garden although it will make harvest and equally busy time!

I love reading this blog, Brian!
Your photography’s sensational, you’ve done what I intend doing and bought property abroad and now you’re growing grapes to make your own wine!
It’s like reading what I’ll be writing in the future only NOW!
I have been discussing GBP 7000 properties in Portugal today so perhaps I can blog about Port production in return one day?!
Anyhow…keep up the excellent blog and GOOD LUCK!
Cheers from the UK,
Mark.
